traveler (noun): “one who travels; one who has traveled much”

find (verb): “to come upon accidentally; to discover by chance”

The first time I saw the Manhattan skyline from my economy window seat more than 20 years ago.

The first time I uttered the words “un croissant s’il vous plait” in a Parisian boulangerie and devoured the croissant in three delicious bites.

The first time I went looking for the Big Dipper but found the Southern Cross instead in the night sky over Sydney.

All those moments sparked an awakening in me. Those moments left me inspired. Intent on spending the rest of my life living all the different versions of me that each destination brought to the forefront.

Travel, to me, is the merging of a city, a country, a destination - where the history, the culture, and the beauty of the surroundings collide unexpectedly with my past and present - leaving me forever changed.

I created Found Traveler to share stories of my travels. To inspire others to find their spark.
